The Band

The members of 'SWAY' generously donate their time to perform at the Chefs Long Table Lunch. They add to the ambience of the day and provide a range of music for listening to and for dancing.

Featuring four talented musicians, "Sway" creates a classy atmosphere playing a mix of swing and jazz in the rat pack tradition. Whilst many Rat Pack era favourites appear, SWAY's repertoire also includes some newer classic tunes from Seventies and Eighties bands like “Sade”, instrumentals from the birth of cool as well as standards recently revived by Robbie Williams, Michael Bublé and Norah Jones.

With a voice reminiscent of the sultry torch singers such as Peggy Lee and Doris Day, mixed with a dash of the smooth smoky tones of Norah Jones, lead singer Louise Kirk draws on her experiences fronting Swing and Dixie Big Bands such as "The Port City Stompers", “Lady and the Champs” and R&B act “Everything Zen”.

Stunning guitarist Pete Chorlton mastered his instrument studying under legends like Steve Morse and Albert Collins. at the prestigious Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood, California. Pete also draws on a wealth of experience playing in well known bands such as "Blue Voodoo", "Bottom Line" and “Tongue and Groove”. Pete was also in "Electric Gypsy's" along with bass player Mike Bandurski, who provides the groove and soul of the band.

Mike toured extensively throughout the nineties with his original band Touchwoods who were chosen to front Jimmy Barnes’ comeback tour. Versatile and vastly experienced "Mr Rhythm", Derek Davidson, has been the backbone of many bands and has been playing Jazz since it was known.

With such a wealth of experience, Sway plays it from the hip, loose and entertaining, in the best jazz traditions as exemplified by their heroes from the rat pack era.
