The Chefs’ Long Table Lunch was first held in 2004 with its first beneficiary, the Bunbury Timber Jetty Environment and Conservation Society, receiving $6,000. The event attracted around 200 people.

 

In 2005, the Bunbury Timber Jetty Environment and Conservation Society was once again the beneficiary and received a further $8,000.
In 2006 the event supported Bunbury Silver Chain which received $20,000 to purchase a vehicle (pictured). Around 210 people attended.
In 2007, the event supported Val Lishman Health Research Foundation (VLHRF) for its project on the prevention of youth suicide in the South West. 400 people attended and the beneficiary received $46,100.
In 2008, the major beneficiary was the South West Refuge’s ‘Outreach Project’. 500 people attended and the Refuge received $61,000.
Foodbank South West received $36,000 after being nominated as the 2009 major beneficiary of the Chefs Long Table Lunch. Just over 500 people atttended.
The Chefs Long Table Lunch committee officially presented the keys to a new 2-tonne delivery and pick up vehicle to volunteers at Foodbank South West in Bunbury on Thursday 19 November, 2009.
Residual funds from the 2009 Lunch were distributed to eight minor beneficiaries (see Minor Beneficiaries page for details).
In 2010, for the first time since the inception of the Chefs Long Table Lunch, two  major beneficiaries were selected. About 500 people attended. Milligan Community Learning & Resource Centre received $46,000 for their Early Years Family Programs and the City of Bunbury Surf Life Saving Club received $38,000 for a new surf boat. As well, six Minor Beneficiaries received residual funds from the 2010 event. Chefs Long Table Committee and some Chefs with Milligan and Surf Life Saving reps after the handover of funds.

 

In 2011, about 550 people attended the event which raised $51,000 for Bunbury Sea Rescue to put towards their new rescue vessel, and $25,000 for the South Bunbury Rotary Club’s Men’s Shed Project.
